Act 1: Eclipse of Darkness
“You will fear the darkness only to the extent that you yourself are not providing light.”
— Marianne Williamson
The scene opens on what appears to be the vast swamps of Louisiana. The night had come on quickly and the sound of crickets echo through the night, as the stars seem to dance over head. Frogs begin to croak as they leap from the water at the bugs that buzzed over head. The camera moves along the long stretch of road that wound itself along the swamps. Soon a rather large, old antebellum home looms over the swamps. A dim light burns in a lower window and the camera moves to the interior to where we see the interior very well kept and seems almost out of place from the outside. The sitting room was done in a dark purple with black lace adoring most furniture. A silver tea set sat on a table with two porcelain cups sat near it. One was still half full while the other was empty. The sound of soft footfalls are soon heard and we soon see a young woman dressed in a long gown of black and a deep purple with long black hair piled on her head. A young man with dark hair and pale skin turns to her. He is wearing deep purple trousers a white plumed shirt and a deep purple button down jacket. He hands her a goblet container crimson liquid.
Young man: You look as beautiful as ever, sweet sister.
She blushes as she extends her hand to him.
Young Woman: Thank you dearest brother. I have to say the company that we had earlier was... Very entertaining. It is a shame that we broke our toys.
Young Man: Fun yes, but not nearly as sweet or as resilient as you.
He takes her hand and places his lips to the back of her hand. Her pale face blushes once again, as she sits on the deep black valor couch.
Young Woman: Thank you my dearest Ander.
Ander: Anything for my beloved Mira.
She takes a sip from the cup that Ander had handed her and smiles over the rim.
Mira: Life is so fleeting, well for at least those we find.
Ander: Not all can be as graced and touched as we.
Mira: Indeed. It has been so quiet lately. Nothing to do, no where to go...
Ander: Yes, so long since we had the thrill of combat rushing through our veins.
Mira sighs as she lean back on the couch.
Mira: Has there been any word from mother?
Ander: Not that I heard, but you are her favorite, not that I blame her, you are my favorite too.
She smiles.
Mira: And you are mine.
Ander: A new federation has opened up. Some old familiar faces have signed. I saw their first show.
Mira: Oh? Well, maybe we should put our names in my dearest. I have been wanting to get into the ring again.
Ander: Anything that I do with you, I enjoy, so I shall sign us up. I guess they are having a tournament. Shows have been mostly in Europe
Mira: I would not mind if you did sign us up. We have shown the world before why we are feared and why we should not be messed with.
Ander: I am glad to hear that, since little Miss Katsa had signed us up already.
She raises an eyebrow and laughs slightly.
Mira: I see. Why does it not surprise me?
Ander: If she behaved like a normal person that would surprise me the most.
Mira: I have to agree with you. If she was normal I do not think Dread would be with her.
Ander: The dear child is never boring though, she tried writing it to us in Romanian, but it looks like she tried using google translate, and she ended it with Blah, Blah Bleugh
Mira shakes her head.
Mira: Oh dear. If we are booked who are we facing dearest?
Ander: You face Cage Earnes of the Hooligans. I in a few weeks face his partner Declan McGinnis
Mira: It is a shame that we are not in the same match. I love to watch you move in the ring. But I guess I will have to endure the slings of this Cage Earnes on my own.
Ander: Well you can watch me in a few weeks and this week I can watch you, and massage any aches and strains after your match and kiss any booboos
Mira: I would like that very much. Now I have to train for the match and make sure that I gain the first win for us.
Ander: I shall train with you.
Mira nods.
Mira: We both need to train and be ready for anything our opponents can throw at us. I wonder if my opponent has even said anything about me yet?
Ander: I believe he has.
Mira: Then let us see what he has to say.
Ander goes and grabs the lap top and then sits beside her opening it up for her to watch. Mira starts to watch it as she yawns and stretches slightly. As it ends she closes the lap top and gets to her feet.
Mira: He really thinks that he is going to win?
Ander stands next to her.
Ander: Well either he is optimistic or delusional
Mira: I think he maybe both. We were raised in the swamps. We know more than he will ever know. We know the lore, the legends... Hell we are the monsters that live in the swamps.
Ander: Hooligans are thugs who hide in the dark to seek out weaker prey. We thrive in the night that is our hunting grounds and we are at the top of the food chain
Mira: Cage has no idea what he is getting himself into. We have done this before and we succeeded where so many others have failed. He may have been raised a gentlemen that will not hit women, but he is right about one thing... It does not matter who I am. It is a battle to the end to see who is the best.
Ander: It is not one should never hit a woman, it is one should never attack those far weaker than them. Cage, do not underestimate my sister, she is vicious, cruel, and deadly, but also know this, if you blemish her perfection, I will strike down upon you with anger and furious vengeance
Mira: I might look innocent but I would rip your throat out if I ever had a chance to. But this is a match where no one can be killed, which is such a shame. From the way you speak of me, you have never seen me in the ring or any of matches from other companies that my dear brother and I were in. We are former tag team champions and we have never been truly stopped by anyone that stepped into the ring against us. You will be my first victim and will not be the last.
Mira smiles as her eyes start glowing red before going back to their normal color as she and Ander walk off as the scene fades to black.
